Poppy came to Duffy"s after being abandoned in favor of a baby. I guess not enough love to go around. We hate these stories because it happens to often. We are delighted however to have him as he is sooooo sweet. Our research indicates that he is 95% Rat Terrier and may be a Chi Chi mix. Poppy has lost weight since he came to us and the loss has transformed his personality. He of course has more energy and is more responsive. He will need to have his food monitored forever so that he does not regain the weight we have worked so hard to remove. He currently weighs 22 lbs. which can be standard for the breed. He is approximately 5 years young and if you research the breed, you will learn that they have longevity up to 18 years. The foster mom has nothing but kind words to say about Poppy. He is good with adults, other dogs and grown children, but he torments the cat. He is extremely friendly and loving and will paw at your arm...
